The Dell Inspiron 3668 Desktop is a typical mid-range desktop for home and office work. This is intended for the average user with regular tasks such as web browsing, day-to-day computing, media management, and office-related tasks.
Dell has installed a seventh-generation Intel i5-7400 processor to use whatever is thrown at it.
The business desktop, wrapped around a super-fast processor, has internal security to protect your important files and information.
Dell’s flagship desktop model, which takes a few steps ahead for your creativity, productivity, and entertainment, ensures an enriching user experience at every level of your needs and expectations.
The desktop model, which comes with an incredibly powerful processor, also has a 1TB HDD and 12GB of DDR4 RAM to enable users to explore and translate their imagination.
A dedicated graphics card undoubtedly explains why this model is able to produce a stunning visual display
Design and features
In terms of design, the Dell Inspiron 3668 strikes a good balance between style and restraint.
The front chassis is made of a matte black polished case that houses a metal case. Its edges are finished with a silver coating along the entire length of the front.
Meanwhile, the embossed silver logo of the heart is located near the bottom of the face while a lattice-like assembly of vents decorates the south.
On the go, the side panels are both made of hard plastic and have no holes (there is one in the back), as is common with some of the desktops we’ve looked at in the past. However, considering this Inspiron has no graphics card.
As a result, there is not much heat to worry about, so the rear vents are sufficient.
Being in the hood does not require much effort. The rear has a few screws, so you need a Philip screwdriver, a bit of workmanship, and a few minutes to get through it.
Inside, there are not many things to check out. The layout is nothing special, in fact, a bit cluttered but put together for performance (tolerable).
Upgrading some additional components is easy because there is room for expansion. Cabling was clearly not right for them, but at least you can easily get anything you want. For storage, there is a 2.5-inch hard drive and a 3.5-inch expansion slot.
The Dell Inspiron i3668-3106BLK Desktop, measuring 11.93 6 6.06 13. 13.9 inches and 13.39 pounds, is a relatively average PC. Compared to other towers we have seen, it takes up less footprint.
Its shoe size is similar to the Dell Inspiron 13650-1551SLV desktop, but compared to the XPS Tower Special Edition PC (15.22 x 7.09 x 14.02 inches) it is small in size and has a small factor.
Dell managed to fit in two ports on this port, but I have to say that most of them are just the main ports, like everything related to this entry-level desktop.
The front has two USB 3.0 ports, a microphone jack, a MicroSD slot, a power button, and an Optical DVD-RW drive.
At the moment, microSD is a good feeling for this computer, and if you need a transfer, it should help you upload photos and videos from the camera.
USB 3.0 ports, they are just as basic as the other basic components and should get rid of you without any problems. If you want to transfer data faster, the USB 3.0 port is the best option considered.
On the flip side, the rear provides most of the ports. You get 4 USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port, VGA port and audio in the ports.
USB 2.0 ports should be sufficient to connect a Dell wired mouse and Dell wired keyboard.
Additionally, if you need to connect an external monitor, you can select VGA or better picture and video quality, HDMI port.
All in all, even though the Dell Inspiron 3668 is an incoming computer, Dell did not compromise on a port as much as we expected.
Other DW1707 Bluetooth card connection options are available.
At the current price of the Dell Inspiron 3668, you will have a hard time finding a PC with all the components and functionality of your dreams.
This is because most PCs are low-end and compact models. As a result, they have made more than a few compromises to lower prices.
As mentioned, the Dell Inspiron 3668 combines the best components that should last a long time, at least five years.
You will not get a better budget deal from this Dell Inspiron 3668.
Components, the Dell Inspiron 3668 i3 packs an Intel i3-7100 Dual Core processor based on the Kaby Lake architecture.
This card is the previous generation Intel Core i3-6300 and benefits from several aspects.
To clarify, this means that it can control some of the 4K content it contains, and if it wishes to upgrade, manage the advanced SSD storage of the future.
In addition, with 2.4 GHz processing power, lack of Turbo Boost technology, and 3 MB of cache, the i3-7100U is slower than its Core i5 processor (Dell Inspiron 3668 i5 Review). However, this does not necessarily mean a bad user experience.
Excellent for tasks such as day-to-day computing, web browsing, executing Office documents, and editing images.
Experts will be pleased to note that this camera is also capable of playing 4K high-definition video and delivering 1080p 60fps video.
It has the ability to manage such tasks without consuming much energy (less compared to previous processors) and does not generate much heat.
Memory and storage
However, in terms of performance, the Inspiron 3668 handles multitasking well due to its dual cores and an 8GB DDR4 2400MHz memory. Normally, most entry-level desktops come with 4GB of memory, but the Dell Inspiron is twice as good for Windows 10 systems and its league management performance.
Also, as is common with most budget PCs, it is normal to store 1TB of HDD during storage. It uses a 7200RPM HDD, which in most cases is enough if there is enough storage in the market for your data files, movies, games, and software.
As far as the game is concerned, there is no dedicated graphics card with this unit.
Only one integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 card is available, meaning that the computer will not be able to run modern trilogy titles. However, if you really want to play, you have to run a few other low-pressure games with moderate to low settings.
